Tanduringie State School is a relatively small, Prep-6, multi-age school located approximately 5 km from Maidenwell in the South Burnett shire. Our school belongs to the Kingaroy Southern Cluster Group in the Darling Downs South West Region. It is situated in a predominately rural area, approximately 40 km from the major centre of Kingaroy.
The area is a traditional farming community with many of the children coming from surrounding cattle, dairy and grain farms, as well as from the township of Maidenwell. Many children also travel from areas outside our catchment area. Many families now supplement their farm income by working elsewhere off farm. The majority of students travel to school by bus. The student population is traditionally non-transient and drawn from a limited geographical area.
Currently there are three full time teaching staff and additional part time and support staff employed at the school. We pride ourselves on providing extremely high quality student learning opportunities through a differentiated curriculum in a supportive, small school 'family-type’ atmosphere. A valued strength of our school is the extremely close, supportive relationship that is maintained between the school, families and the local community.
