Tanduringie State School

Tanduringie State School is a small, Prep–Year 6 multi-age school set in an idyllic rural location approximately 5 km from Maidenwell, in the South Burnett Region. The school is part of a cluster of schools within the Darling Downs South West Region and is located around 40 km from the major regional centre of Kingaroy.

Our Community

The surrounding area is traditionally a farming community. Many past and present students come from local cattle, dairy and grain farms, as well as from the township of Maidenwell. Some families also travel from outside the school’s catchment area to be part of our close-knit school community.

Our Staff

The school is currently staffed by:

  • One full-time teaching principal

  • One part-time classroom teacher

  • Additional support staff

Our staff pride themselves on delivering high-quality education through differentiated teaching and learning, ensuring every student is supported in an inclusive and nurturing small-school environment.

Our Strength

A valued strength of Tanduringie State School is the exceptionally close and supportive relationship between the school, families and the wider local community. We work together to:

  • Respect the traditions and culture of the past

  • Welcome new families

  • Embrace new and innovative ways of learning

This strong sense of partnership helps create a positive, caring and engaging environment where every student is known, valued and supported.
