At Tanduringie State School we value our immediate and wider school community. We welcome opportunities for our community to become involved in our school. Here are a list of some of the special events we celebrate and participate in annually. We often take advantage of additional special events as they are communicated throughout the year.
Anzac Day
This is held in the township of Maidenwell and is organised by both our school and our local CWA.
Girl's Night In
An evening activity where we invite all the mums (or significant women) and pamper them, this usually coincides with Mother's Day.
Boy's Night In
An evening activity where we invite all the dads (or significant men) to our school, this usually coincides with Father's day.
International Day
We have a long-standing tradition of celebrating International Day. Our local CWA support and help to organise this event. Each year our students learn about a particular country and complete projects catered to their year level. We then have a celebration day to display the projects.
Grandparent's Day
Each year we invite our student's grandparents to our school for a morning. We display student work and our grandparents are invited into classrooms where they observe students completing their lessons. Our grandparents often bring along a 'show and tell' item from their schooling days. Our day closes with a light refreshment.
Picnic Day
A tradition that has been celebrated for 100 years! Our picnic day is our way of celebrating the end of the school year. Our wonderful P&C organise and cater for this day where all members of our school community are welcomed.
