At Tanduringie State School, student learning is guided by the Australian Curriculum, which sets clear learning goals for all year levels.

The 8 Learning Areas

The curriculum is organised into eight key learning areas (subjects):

  1. English

  2. Mathematics

  3. Science

  4. Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS)

  5. Health and Physical Education (HPE)

  6. The Arts

  7. Languages

  8. Technologies

How These Subjects Are Delivered at Tanduringie State School

Taught in the classroom:

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS)

  • Health and Physical Education (HPE)

  • The Arts

Languages (Japanese):

  • Students in Years 5 and 6 participate in online Japanese lessons with a specialist teacher from the Capricornia School of Distance Education.

Technologies – Digital and Design Technologies:

  • Students in Years 3–6 participate in Digital and Design Technology lessons with specialist teachers through the Department of Education's Queensland Virtual Academy.

  • Students in Prep–Year 2 participate in Digital and Design Technology lessons with their classroom teacher.
